Summary
Summary
This scene features a beaver's tail cloud that intersect the base of a supercell thunderstorm in northwest Minnesota. This beaver's tail surrounded the southward propagating storm's forward flank downdraft and eventually morphed into a shelf cloud. While no precipitation was falling overhead in this scene, the supercell's right and left -split precipitation cores can be seen. Both of which result in numerous reports of large to very large hail as the storm(s) propagated off to the south and east. More information about this storm event can be found: here.
